Contractual employees of AIIMS-Bhubaneswar stage dharna seeking job regularisation

Bhubaneswar: The contractual employees of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, today staged a dharna by locking the main gate of the healthcare institute to protest against alleged disengagement and salary cut.

The agitators alleged that the contractual employees of the healthcare institute are being disengaged from service at the will of the contractor.

Moreover, the contractor has been illegally deducting Rs 750 each from the salaries of the contractual staff, alleged the agitators.

The agitating employees urged the authorities concerned to return the deducted amount at the earliest and provide salary slips.

They also urged the authorities to reinstate the employees who have been disengaged by the contractor and provide ESI, EPF, bonus and other benefits to the contractual staff.

The agitators pleaded for job regularisation and equal pay for equal work.

They also pleaded before the authorities for weekly off and other benefits as per the Labour Act of the Union government.
