Bhubaneswar, Jan 13:
In a big jolt to Bhubaneswar Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena, the Civil Judge Court (Senior Division) today lifted curbs on the telecast of the controversial sex video tape allegedly showing him in a compromising position with a woman.
The Court had earlier on a petition of Jena restrained electronic media from telecasting the sex video tape.
While news stories had been carried by the print media about the sex tape, Jena had only made electronic media parties in his petition. The court has also questioned Jena’s objective on this account.
“The judge today felt that whatever that has come out in the media is true. Secondly, the court has observed that the petitioner has failed to be transparent,” said Pradip Pandey, proprietor of niankhunta.com, a news web portal that had uploaded the controversial sex video tape.
However, the court has restrained National Students Union of India (NSUI) state unit president Itish Pradhan from making any objectionable comments on Jena without substantiating it with facts.
“I not very clear about the restrictions imposed on me. I haven’t read the court’s order in detail. I have and have been fighting for truth. And I will continue to fight for truth till my last breath,” Itish Pradhan, NSUI state president after the court’s order.
On the other hand, the court will conduct the hearing in the matter on whether telecast of the tape had in any manner caused to defame Jena.
It’s worthwhile to mention here that it was Pandey who had uploaded the sex clip on his news web portal and had said that it had some link with the mysterious death of an engineering student Ashutosh Mohanty alias Rishi.
Few hours after the sex video clip was uploaded at nainkhunta.com Pradhan had held a presser and had claimed that the man in the video was Mayor Jena. He had demanded a CBI probe while claiming that Rishi was murdered and the video was linked to his murder.
