Coop society secy caught taking Rs 15,000 bribe in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance officials today arrested the Secretary of a Cooperative Society in Nayagarh district for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 15,000.

The accused has been identified as Pramod Kumar Dehury, Secretary, Dhipisahi Service Cooperative Society, Daspalla.

According to reports, Dehury had demanded the amount from one Ranjan Pradhan of the area to supply paddy seed and release paddy worth Rs 2,72,250. Pradhan lodged a complaint in this regard with Vigilance, following which a trap was laid and Dehury was caught red-handed by the sleuths of the anti-corruption agency while receiving the amount from the complainant.

A case has been registered in this connection and further investigation was underway.
