Cops arrest newlywed youth for ‘unnatural sex’ with trans in Odisha

Cuttack: A newlywed youth was arrested for allegedly having ‘unnatural sex’ with a transgender here in Odisha’s Cuttack district.

The Mangalabag police arrested the accused following complaint lodged by the transgender.

According to reports, the accused, a resident of Mangalabag area had physical relationship with the transgender under Banarpal police limits over a decade since they were students. The duo was studying together till 2017.

The two had promised to each other not to get married to anyone in life. Even, they were meeting after their study and job. However, the situation changed after the 28-year-old youth’s family was planning for his marriage with another girl.

The victim approached the youth and the girl’s families and requested them not to proceed with the marriage proposal. The trans also informed both the families about their long relationship. However, rejecting the claims by the transgender, the families organised the wedding ceremony. The youth finally tied the knot with the girl on May 4.

The youth’s family had allegedly threatened the transgender on April 24 to stay away from him.

Police detained the accused, his elder brother and uncle on May 9 following a written complaint by the victim. Later, the accused and his uncle were arrested and forwarded to the court.
