In a case of police excess, Kendrapada’s sub-collector Kanhu Charan Dhir was manhandled by two police officials, including a woman.

They smashed his car and adding to his humiliation a woman police officer made him sit on the roadside and clicked photographs of him from her mobile.

On Wednesday, at around 8:15 pm, Dhir was travelling in his personal car when a police officer stopped him. While Dhir was giving his identity, a woman cop came running and hit his car twice with a stick.

Dhir coming out of the car objected to this resulting in the police inspector pushing him to roadside. A woman cop then started abusing him and took pictures of him from her mobile.

Only after the SDPO reached the spot did the police personnel let go of Dhir’s car. The district administrative officers have come together to protest the police misbehaviour.

This is just two months after Kendrapada SP Satish Kumar Gajbhiye was suspended after he had beaten a lawyer and made him do sit-ups, for which he has been recently suspended.
