Coronavirus scare: Odisha Health department sets up control room

Bhubaneswar: Amid the novel coronavirus scare across the country, the Odisha government today set up a control room to receive information on the deadly disease. The Health department has issued four helpline numbers – 0674 2390466, 9439994857, 94399991221 and 9437040564, informed Secretary Nikunja Dhal today.

Earlier in the day, the DMET director CBK Mohanty said blood samples of four persons suspected of being affected by novel coronavirus are found to be negative whereas another youth is kept under observation at an isolation ward in SCB Medical College and Hospital and his test will take a few more days.

The DMET Director further said a woman student returned from China today has been kept under home observation.

Few days back, the Health department had issued advisories to prominent hospitals in the State and asked them to be ready for detection of coronavirus affected persons.
