Coronavirus scare: Odisha youth returned from China admitted to SCB hospital

Cuttack: Mrutunjay Muni from Phulbani, suspected of being affected by novel Coronavirus, has been admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack last night. He has been kept under observation at an isolation ward in the hospital.

Mrutunjay was brought to SCB hospital from Phulbani via a 108 Ambulance for medical examination.

Worth mentioning, Mrutunjay is pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Science in China. After he returned home in Phulbani recently, he developed a few symptoms of the deadly coronavirus. Mrutunjay then informed the CDMO about his cold and cough, who advised him to undergo medical examinations.

For a while, he was kept under observation at the Kandhamal District Headquarters Hospital. As the district headquarters hospital is not well equipped, he was referred to SCB hospital for medical examination.

“There was a notice from the Health ministry to carry out a check-up of persons coming from China after Jan 1. As I have returned back from China recently and am suffering from common cold and cough, I informed the district hospital. The cold and cough might be due to climate change. Despite the fact that I am doing fine, I have come to the SCB hospital for further examination,” said Mrutyunjaya.
