Coronavirus: Servitors undergo thermal scanning before entering Puri Jagannath Temple

Puri: In the wake of outbreak of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Odisha, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) decided to conduct thermal scanning of servitors from today to prevent spread of deadly virus inside the temple.

The thermal scanning system has been made in front of Singhadwara (Lion’s Gate) of Srimandir.

As per the decision, the servitors of Lord Jagannath and other deities on premises of Srimandir need to undergo thermal scanning at Singhadwara before entering into the temple.

The temple administration has already imposed restriction on devotees from entering into the temple as part of precautionary measure to prevent spread of coronavirus.

Notably, the pilgrim town Puri is under lockdown since March 22 to battle coronavirus.
