Counselling for admission in MBBS and BDS streams began in three cities of Odisha today.
A total of 1700 students, who have qualified the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT), have registered their names for the counselling which will be held at five nodal centres in Bhubaneswar, Sambalpur and Brahmapur.
The four-day counselling will continue till September 1 in which verification of documents of the eligible candidates would be done from 10 AM to 5 PM.
As informed by the secretary of Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) Priyabrata Sahu, five document verification centres have been set up at VSS Medical College and Hospital at Burla in Sambalpur, Parala Maharaja Engineering College in Brahmapur and College of Engineering and Technology (CET), Central Institute of Plastics Engineering and Technology (CIPET) and Sai Institute of Technological Science in Bhubaneswar.
“Besides, students of Odisha, who had appeared in the AIPMT outside the state, can get their documents verified in any of these five centres”, Sahu added.
The first phase seat allotment would be made on September 6 and the students will have to report at the JEE Cell between September 7 and 11 for provisional admission.
The list of vacant seats will be announced on September 12.
Students seeking admission in MBBS and BDS streams in government and private medical colleges and hospital, must be the native of Odisha and have to submit relevant and authentic document.
The OJEE secretary also informed that there would be no admission in 100 seats each in the Sardar Raja Medical College and Hospital at Jaring in Kalahandi district and Hi-Tech Medical College and Hospital at Rourkela in Sundargarh district as per the directive of the Medical Council of India (MCI) as these two institutes lack adequate infrastructure.
