Woman robbed of jewelleries, husband injured by armed miscreants in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: In a daring broad daylight heist, five armed miscreants looted gold jewlleries from a woman and attacked her husband during the confrontation at Phase-III in Sailashree Vihar here today.

Sources said when the woman was out for a Yoga class in the locality at around 5.30 AM, five armed miscreants came on two bikes and attempted to loot her by brandishing knife and gun. When her husband reached the spot to rescue her, the hooligans attacked him with knife. He sustained injuries in his hand.

Later, when some locals rushed to the spot hearing the couple’s scream, the miscreants hurled stones at them and threatened to kill them. The five looters later decamped with the gold jewelleries.

A complaint has been lodged at Chandrasekharpur police station in this connection.
