Baripada: In a tragic mishap, a couple died after two bikes collided in Baripada in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district here today. The deceased were identified as Srikant Mahant (40) of Badakeraka area within Badasahi police limits of Mayurbhanj and his wife Sandhya Rani (30).

As per reports, the duo was travelling on Baripada-Lulung road when a bike collided with theirs near Telibila village. While the accused person fled the spot soon after the incident, Srikant and Sandhya were rushed to PRM Medical College and Hospital at the district headquarters but hospital sources informed that the victims succumbed.

Meanwhile, police has seized the bike and registered a case. Further investigation is underway.
