Bhubaneswar: A married couple was killed after the firecrackers exploded on city's outskirts here today.

The deceased persons were identified as Gyanaranjan Mishra and his wife Jhunamani Mishra.

The incident occurred at Balipatna Nuasahi on outskirts of Bhubaneswar. The couple died on the spot while they were preparing firecrackers.

Another person has also sustained injuries in the incident.

The fire tender rushed to the site to douse the flame.

According to reports, the explosion was so intense that the parts of bodies were found 50 ft away from the site.

Even, the blast blew the roof off a house of the couple's neighbour Jitendra Mishra.

However, two children of Mishra couple were saved as they had been to their school.
