COVID-19: Balasore district administration seals bank, lodge

Balasore: The Balasore district administration today sealed UCO Bank, Soro branch and a lodge suspecting spread of COVID-19 infection. This apart, 11 employees of the bank have been kept in a government quarantine facility.

The administration also sanitized the bank, lodge and nearby areas.

As per reports, a girl from Neliabag area, who was among the five COVID-19 positive cases detected yesterday in Balasore, is daughter of an employee of UCO Bank, Soro branch. This apart, a woman employee of the bank was staying on rent at the house of the girl.

However, after the first positive case of Balasore was detected from Nelibag area, the woman bank employee had been staying Kasinath lodge in Adangabazaar in Soro since April 18.

As per the direction of the administration, officials of the Soro Municipality officials and police seized the bank and lodge. Initially, the 11 bank staff will undergo medical examination and tests and contact tracing exercise will be carried out.
