COVID-19: Banquet hall of Ram Mandir sealed in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: The banquet hall of Ram Mandir in Bhubaneswar has been sealed by the enforcement authorities for allegedly violating COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Centre and State Government.

A team of Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) led by South East Zonal Deputy Commissioner Ansuman Rath today visited the Ram Mandir situated at Janpath area during a birthday party celebration at the temple’s banquet hall. During inquiry, the enforcement officials came to know that the function was being organised without prior permission from the BMC.

As per the COVID guidelines issued by the BMC, no function can be allowed without prior notice from the civic body.

The BMC sealed the banquet hall of the temple on charges of violation of COVID-19 protocols. The attendees were asked to vacate the place immediately and a fine of Rs 5,000 was collected from the birthday party organisers.

Worth mentioning that the enforcement squads of the BMC have been raiding several institutions including colleges in a past week for implementation of COVID-19 guidelines in view of sharp rise in single-day COVID cases.

Today, the BMC has sealed an engineering college in Bhubaneswar for violation of COVID-19 norms.
