COVID-19: BMC declares this area in Odisha Capital as containment zone
Bhubaneswar: The Commissioner of Bhubaneswar Municipal Commissioner today declared Trinath Temple Chawk to Airport Boundary in the Capital city as containment zone to contain the spread of COVID-19.
Worth mentioning, first positive case in Laxmi Bazar Basti, Siripur was detected on June 17 with travel history from a hotspot district. After contact tracing and surveillance, eight more positive cases were detected in the area.
As per an order issued by BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary, no public will be allowed to move into the containment zone and the inhabitants within the containment zone will not move out.
All the inhabitants within the containment zone shall strictly remain in home.
Shopping establishment of whatsoever nature will be closed immediately, it added.
This apart, all the government and private Institutions located within the boundary of the containment zone have been closed.
The BMC will ensure supply of essentials/Medicines in the containment zones. The inhabitants have been asked to call the Helpline No 1929 for any requirements/complaints.
