COVID-19 case tally crosses 5,000 mark in Odisha Capital as 277 more test positive

Bhubaneswar: Another 277 persons from Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) area today tested positive for deadly COVID-19 in last 24 hours. With this, the total number of the infected persons in the Odisha Capital crossed 5,000 mark. So far, the positive cases tally in the city increased to 5,119.

Out of the fresh positive cases, the number of quarantine cases was 181 whereas local contact cases were 96. Positive cases linked with earlier positive cases were 180. One person with travel history to Vishakhapatnam was detected COVID-19 positive during quarantine period.

In last 24 hours, a total of 133 COVID-19 patients recovered from the infection in the city. Till yet, the number of recovered cases stands at 3,251. The number of active cases is at 1,839.

A total of 23 COVID-19 patients died of the diseases in Bhubanewar.
