Bhubaneswar: As cases of Covid-19 continue to rise in Odisha, the State crossed the 100 mark with 104 people testing positive for the infection today. As per the latest official figures, of 5526 new samples tested, 104 tested positive all of whom are of 0-18 years of age group. Till now, total samples tested are 3,47,42,677 of which 13,37,377 have tested positive. While new recoveries' figure is 34, there have been total 13,27,690 recoveries till now.  Cumulative deaths due to Covid are 9,205 while 53 deaths have been attributed to other reasons. No new death as been reported and there are 429 active cases in Odisha as of now, the data revealed.

After a gap of four months, Odisha has been Covid cases rising from single to double digits since last month.

While the Health department ruled out any reason to panic, the government has asked people to get themselves tested for Covid if they get flu-like symptoms.

Odisha had reported the first Covid case in March 2020 and has since then witnessed three waves of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, director of ICMR-regional medical research centre (RMRC) Bhubaneswar Sanghamitra Pati has directed people to test themselves and isolate themselves if tested positive for Covid or H3N2 virus as cases of the latter are
also rising. Total 61 H3N2 cases have been reported from Odisha this year.
