COVID-19 claims 3 more lives in Odisha; toll at 1,933

Bhubaneswar: As many as three more persons died of COVID-19 in Odisha during the last 24 hours taking the toll to 1,933, official sources said today.

All of them died while undergoing treatment in hospitals.

The deceased have been identified as a 43-year-old man of Bolangir district who was also suffering from Diabetes Mellitus, a 72-year-old man of Ganjam district who was also suffering from Carcinoma Stomach, Hypertension and Coronary Artery Disease, and a 32-year-old man of Jajpur district who was also suffering from Sickle cell Disease.

On the other hand, the state reported 2267 new infections in the last 24 hours. Out of the 2267 cases, 1314 were detected in quarantine while 953 are local contact cases. Sundargarh reported the highest number of cases as 458 new infections were detected in the district.

With this, the COVID-19 tally in Odisha surged to 355353 with 12244 active cases.
