COVID-19 detected from Homoeopathic medical college in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: With fast transmission of infections due to deadly Coronavirus, Dr. Abhin Chandra Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital in Bhubaneswar reported its first positive case in second wave of the pandemic.

According to reports, a first year student of the premier homoeopathic medical college has tested positive for COVID-19. He has been kept in isolation at a hostel on premises of the college.

Following detection of the COVID case, all the classes at the college have been suspended for two days.

Source said that the infectee was suffering from fever. His test report came positive on Wednesday after he underwent COVID-19 test.

As part of precautionary measures, the hostel campus has been sanitized.

Meanwhile, the Directorate of Medical Education and Training, Odisha, has written to all the medical colleges to vacate the hostels at the earliest in view of single-day spike of COVID cases across the State.

However, the notification in this regard is yet to release from the State Directorate of AYUSH for the homoeopathic and ayurveda colleges.
