India’s first standalone COVID-19 hospital comes up in Odisha in record time

Bhubaneswar: Leading by example, Odisha Government today readied two COVID-19 hospitals in a record time of one week. These hospitals are India’s first standalone COVID-19 healthcare facilities.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the hospitals located at KIIMS in Bhubaneswar and Ashwini Hospital in Cuttack through video conferencing.

While the COVID-19 hospital at KIIMS has a capacity of 500, Ashwini Hospital has 125 beds. Patnaik interacted with doctors & paramedics and appreciated their role in combating the deadly virus. He also congratulated the partner organisations for putting up the facilities in a record time of one week.

These hospitals are ready to provide dedicated healthcare to COVID-19 patients. Both the hospitals have been managed and funded by Odisha Mining Corporation.

It can be mentioned here that the State Government had earlier announced about free treatment, food and stay for patients at the hospitals.
