COVID-19 in Kendrapara: 11 villages sealed, patient shifted

Kendrapara: After Kendrapara district reported its first COVID-19 positive case yesterday, the administration today sealed 11 villages in Aul area as a preventive measure to curb spread of the deadly virus.

Hence, public movement in the villages has been strictly restricted and the district administration will take sanitisation and disinfection drives in the sealed area during the period. Besides, house to house survey is being carried out for screening of the inhabitants, said Collector Samantha Verma.

“People need not to panic. Essential items will be supplied to the households,” he added.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 patient, a resident of Aul,  has been shifted to Ashwini Hospital in Cuttack for treatment. Swab samples of his family members have been collected and sent for testing. They have also been asked to stay in home quarantine.
