COVID-19: Koraput administration declares Podagada containment zone

Koraput: After one person from Koraput district tested positive for deadly COVID-19, the district administration declared Podagada area as a containment zone today.

Official sources said the containment zone order will remain in force in Podagada for 48 hours. The administration sealed three km periphery of the area.

Restrictions have been imposed on entry into and exit from Podagada area.

The maiden positive case from Koraput district is a male Staff Nurse and had come from Kolkata on April 14 to join duty.

After he reached Koraput, the Staff Nurse was quarantined and tested due to travel history.

So far, 111 tested positive for the deadly virus in Odisha.
