Jharsuguda: Adopting a unique formula to spread awareness about COVID-19, the dutiful police sang songs on streets appealing to residents to stay at home during lockdown clamped in the country to fight deadly virus.
Instead of holding baton, a team of police personnel headed by Jharsuguda SP Aswini Mohanty, took initiative to spread message through song in the Western Odisha town.
Holding Mike in hand, the cops sang songs on urban streets and roads with an aim at convincing people not to come out of house as part of precautionary measure for containment of coronavirus.
The local administration has clamped restrictions on movement of two wheelers and other vehicles in the town from Saturday during nationwide lockdown. The police urged the residents to walk and buy essential items from nearby shops, which remain open from 6.00 am till 11.00 am. They appealed to observe the complete lockdown to fight COVID-19.
