COVID-19 lockdown: Odisha Minister appeals students to stay at home and study

Bhubaneswar: Amidst COVID-19 scare, School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash today appealed to the students to stay at home and concentrate on studies during lockdown in the state.

“In view of corona scare, please stay at home and be in touch with your studies,” Dash said through a video message today.

He said that the mid-day meal has been provided to the students for three months. The MDM programme will resume from June 15.

“In the meantime, the textbook from Class I to VIII have already been dispatched to their schools. The S&ME Department will make arrangement to send the books to students after overcoming the pandemic situation arising out of coronavirus in the state,” the minister said.

He assured that the students will avail the textbooks very soon for the next academic year so that they could utilise holidays in studies.

Speaking over conducting the last paper of Class IX examination, he said that test of all the papers has been completed.

“The department is considering to conduct the examination of remaining one paper after COVID-19 scare,” he said.
