COVID-19: More positive cases detected in Odisha’s Angul, Jharsuguda districts

Angul/Jharsuguda: Another six COVID-19 patients were detected in Angul district while two more persons tested positive for the virus in Jharsuguda district. With this, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Angul and Jharsuguda districts rose to 40 and 15, respectively.

Official sources said six persons staying at a quarantine centre at Kanaloi village under Chhendipada block of Angul district tested positive for the deadly virus. They had been staying at the quarantine centre since June 7 after their return from Tamil Nadu.

As per latest reports, the six persons have been admitted to the COVID Hospital.

In Jharsuguda, the new COVID-19 cases have a recent travel history to Mumbai. They had been staying at an institutional quarantine at Kalyan Mandap of MCL in Brajrajnagar since June 5 following their return from Mumbai by train.

Official sources said the two new positive cases, a 50-year-old male and a 40-year-old female will be sent to Rourkela COVID hospital.
