COVID-19 norms violators to face stricter action: CP

Bhubaneswar:  Many people are seen not properly following the COVID-19 guidelines like wearing face mask and maintaining social distance. Hence, stricter action will be taken against the violators, informed Twin City Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi.

At a presser, the CP said, “Fines are being collected from around 500 violators every day. Many people are not wearing the mask properly. Easing of lockdown does not mean the deadly virus has disappeared, it is still around. Hence, we request people to cooperate with us by adhering to the rules. Wear face mask, maintain social distance and do not spit in public for your safety and of others.”

The CP advised senior citizens to wear face mask even while staying indoors.

Besides, police personnel have been directed to spread awareness among people on use of face mask by making public announcements. Stricter action will be taken against violators of COVID-19 guidelines, he warned.
