COVID-19: Odisha-born physician in research group formed by National Task Force

Bhubaneswar: Odisha-born physician Prof. (Dr.) Digambar Behera has been included in the Clinical Research Group formed by the National Task Force for COVID-19.

As many as five research groups have been formed by the National Task Force to identify research priorities, develop research protocols and identify partner institutes for initiating studies. Behera is a part of the Clinical Research Group.

Prof. (Dr.) Digambar Behera is a highly regarded physician in respiratory medicine. Born in Cuttack district in 1953, Prof. Behera had his MBBS from SCB Medical College, Cuttack, MD from PGIMER, Chandigarh and MNAMS qualification in General Medicine and Respiratory Medicine.

Since 1981, he has held several positions at PGIMER, Chandigarh where he is currently working as Professor and Head, Department of Pulmonary Medicine.
