COVID-19: Odisha govt orders 15-day lockdown in these areas

Bhubaneswar: With an aim to contain the spread of COVID-19, the Odisha government today announced lockdown in four districts and a municipal corporation area from 9 pm tomorrow till July 31 midnight.

Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy said the 15-day lockdown will be imposed in Ganjam, Khordha, Cuttack and Jajpur districts and Rourkela Municipal Corporation (RMC) area. “Around 66% case load are being reported from Ganjam, Khordha, Cuttack and Jajpur districts,” the Chief Secretary informed.

During the lockdown period only shops selling vegetables, groceries and milk will remain open from 6 am to 1 pm in the four districts and RMC area, he said.

People are requested not to visit these four districts and the Rourkela Municipal Corporation area without any emergency, the Chief Secretary added.
