COVID-19: Odisha police registers 144 violation cases in 24 hrs

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha police registered as many as 144 cases in connection with violation of the various guidelines and regulations related to COVID-19 in the 24 hours between April 15 morning and April 16 morning.

DGP Abhay said out of the 144 cases, 134 were registered for violation of lockdown, four for violation of home quarantine and six for other related issues. However, no case was registered for rumour mongering in the last 24 hours, he added.

In Berhampur, seven cases were registered during the period while 11 persons were arrested for violation of the partial shutdown norms.  The number of vehicles seized/ challan issued was 187.  Besides, 219 litres of illegal liquor was seized during the time, said Berhampur SP in a tweet.
