COVID-19: Odisha tally surges to 157 as one more tests positive

Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally in the State increased to 157 after one more person tested positive for the deadly virus today afternoon.

Official sources said the fresh case is a 62-year-old male from Bari block in Jajpur district. He remained in quarantine due to his recent travel history to Kolkata, said the sources adding the person was asymptomatic.

The sources further said contact tracing and follow-up action are being done.

Earlier in the day, two male persons from Bari block tested positive for the virus. Both were Kolkata returnees and asymptomatic.

So far, the positive cases in Jajpur district reached 48. The total number of COVID-19 cases in the State was at 157.

The number of active cases is 100. A total of 56 persons cured from the infection and one died.
