COVID-19 outbreak: Odisha declares students of Classes I-VIII ‘all pass’

Bhubaneswar: In the wake of novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Odisha government today declared the students of Classes I-VIII in the state-run schools ‘all pass’.

“All the students except Class-IX are declared to have passed without annual examinations this academic session due to COVID-19 situation,” said School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash today.

As the examination of one paper of Class-IX is yet to be held, the decision on the particular Class will be taken by the department after overcoming the situation arising out of Coronavirus.

Expressing concern over future of students, who have appeared in the Matriculation Examination-2020 and annual Plus II Examination, he said that all the answer sheets are safe.

“The answer sheets of examinees of matriculation and Plus II are safe at evaluation centres amidst tight security,” he said

He has directed the collectors of all the districts to convert the schools into quarantines if necessary.
