Nabarangpur: A COVID-19 patient undergoing treatment at a COVID hospital in Nabarangpur district escaped from the healthcare institution. This was informed by the District Collector Ajit Kumar Mishra today.

The COVID-19 patient is a resident of Umerkote area. After suspected COVID-19 symptoms were spotted in the person during medical examination at a hospital, swab samples of him were sent for tests. When the person’s reports showed he is COVID-19 positive on June 3, he was admitted to a COVID hospital in Nabarangpur.

As per a complaint filed by the COVID hospital Superintendent, the patient jumped the hospital wall and escaped.

So far, a total of 79 persons from the district tested COVID-19 positive.
