COVID-19 resurgence: Sundargarh declares 3 micro containment zones

Sundargarh: Following detection of large number of daily COVID-19 positive cases, the Sundargarh district administration today declared three micro containment zones in district to check further spread of the virus.

The three micro containment zones are Murkia Musalman Bastipara under Bandega Gram Panchayat (GP) with 19 positive cases, Bandega Ultudihi Fittingpara, Bastipara under Bandega GP with 24 positive cases and near Lulkidihi High School under Bandega GP with two positive cases.

“To contain further transmission of COVID-19, it is necessary to make the locations as no access zones. The containment order will remain in force till April 12, 2021,” informed a senior official.

“All vehicular and public movements other than medical staff, authorized persons and service providers will be restricted. Panchayat Executive Officer (PEO) of Bandega GP and PEO of Lulkidihi GP have been appointed as Nodal Officers to ensure smooth supply of essential items in the containment zones,” he added.
