COVID-19: Shutdown extended in Jajpur’s Basudevpur till May 18

Jajpur: The Jajpur district administration today extended the period of complete shutdown in Basudevpur panchayat after one more COVID-19 case was detected.

District collector Ranjan Kumar Das said the shutdown has been extended in the containment zone area in Basudevpur panchayat areas till 8 PM on May 18.

The decision has been taken in larger public interest with a view to contain spread of COVID-19, the Collector stated in an order.

Also, the containment zone area has been extended with the inclusion of Gobindapur village.

During this period, movement of people from and to the containment zone is strictly restricted. All facilities will be arranged in the containment zone as per the micro-plan of the administration, the order added.

Earlier in the day, one more positive case was detected in Basudevpur village under Basudevpur panchayat. The district tally so far is at 19.
