Will Odisha Matric, Plus II exams be postponed amidst COVID-19 surge?

Bhubaneswar: Amidst concern among students and their parents for possibility of rescheduling Odisha Matric and Plus II examinations in view of COVID resurgence in the State, the School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash today cleared the air.

The Minister made it clear that there will be no change in schedules for conducting the annual Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Examination and Plus II Examination 2021 this year.

“The upcoming Matric and Plus II examinations will not be rescheduled. Both the examinations will be held as per schedule,” Dash told media.

The Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha will conduct the Odisha HSC Examination from May 3 to May 15, 2021. The practical test will be held for the Class X students from April 27 to May 2, 2021. Similarly, the Plus II Examination to be conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) is scheduled from May 18 to June 11, 2021. The practical examinations will be conducted between April 29 to May 8, 2021.

Recently, the State Government has closed offline classes of Class IX and XI in state-run and private schools and higher secondary schools in view of rising number of COVID-19 cases in educational institutions.
