COVID-19 spurt: Mask-wearing now mandatory in Rourkela

Rourkela:  With daily Covid-19 cases shooting up, the Rourkela Municipal Corporation (RMC) has made wearing of face masks mandatory for its citizens in all public places.

RMC Commissioner on Wednesday informed that wearing of masks has been made mandatory for all citizens at all public places including markets.

Moreover, the RMC has directed its citizens to go for Covid-19 tests if they develop flu-like symptoms.

“People can go for COVID testing at SAIL Health Centre Sector 6, SAIL Health Centre Sector 1 and Rourkela Govt Hospital amid COVID protocol,” the municipal corporation’s social media post read.

Earlier, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Berhampur Municipal Corporations had  issued fresh guidelines mandating mask-wearing among people at public places.

As per the guidelines, people must wear face mask at public places like markets, religious sites, open gyms and parks.  Shopkeepers have been directed to put up signboard with ‘No Mask No Entry’ and ‘No Mask No Goods’written on it.
