Jajpur: In view of the COVID-19 resurgence, the Jajpur district administration today imposed prohibitory orders under Section-144 at Baruni Ghat to avoid mass gathering for Baruni Snana festival tomorrow.
Since large number of people from across the district are expected to gather tomorrow for Baruni festival 2021 and the congregation may cause spread of the virus, Section-144 has been imposed at Baruni Ghat, Dasvamedha Ghat, Baruni Mela Padia and its adjacent areas to safeguard the lives of general public, said an order issued by Jajpur Sub-Collector Jyotishankar Mohapatra. Besides, the Jajpur police station IIS has been directed to promulgate the order in the prohibited areas and keep a strict surveillance to avoid any untoward situation, the order reads.
