COVID-19 tally in Cuttack city climbs to 736 with 65 new cases

Cuttack: Cuttack city today reported 65 new COVID-19 cases taking total count to 736 so far, informed Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC).

Out of fresh 65 cases, 50 cases are home quarantine cases, 7 have been detected from institutional quarantine centres and 6 are local contacts. The remaining 2 are paid quarantine cases.

For the first time, a huge number of 28 positive cases linked with an earlier case have been reported from a containment zone in Khatbin Sahi. Eight more persons from Sheikh Bazaar linked with an earlier reported positive case have tested positive for the deadly virus.

In institutional quarantine cases, while 5 persons including patients and attendants at SCB Medical College & Hospital Isolation Ward have been found COVID-19 positive, one more COVID warrior has contracted infection in the city.

Two newly infected persons currently lodged in a paid quarantine centres have recent travel history to Tamil Nadu and Delhi.
