Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally in Odisha increased to 55 as one more youth today tested positive for the deadly virus today.
Addressing a presser here, Odisha government’s Chief Spokesperson on COVID-19 Subroto Bagchi informed a 35-year-old male from Bomikhal containment area, Bhubaneswar today detected as a COVID-19 case.
Official sources said the recently reported COVID-19 case is a neighbour of case no 7,8, 22 and 39.
The youth remained in his home at Babylon apartment, Jayadurga Nagar, Bomikhal from March 22- April 12, the official sources added.
Though he was asymptomatic, the case was detected after sample was collected as part of surveillance in containment zone, said.
As per latest reports, the case no 55 has been shifted to KIMS COVID hospital in Bhubaneswar.
Meanwhile, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation today withdrew order of containment zone from Sundarpada and Jadupur Begunia revenue village. However, surveillance will continue in theses areas for next seven days. This was informed by the BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary at the presser.
Till date, 41 active cases have been reported in Odisha whereas 13 persons recovered and were discharged from hospitals and one died. A total of 4170 samples have been tested till April 13 midnight.
