COVID-19: This area in Cuttack city declared Containment Zone

Cuttack: The Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) today declared Malisahi area in Ranihat Ward-31 here as Containment Zone after detection of COVID-19 positive cases in the area in the last couple of days.

During the containment period, the CMC will carry out active contact tracing and sanitization drive in the area.

Besides, CMC Commissioner Ananya Das today directed officials concerned to implement the following measures in larger public interest and to curb spread of the virus.

Movement of all vehicles (both public and private) is restricted
All inhabitants with the containment zone will strictly remain indoors.
All shopping establishments of whatsoever nature will be closed immediately. Supply of essentials and medical requirements will be ensured through various teams formed by CMC.
All Government and private institutions located with the boundary of the Containment Zone will be closed forthwith.

Today, Cuttack district reported 13 positive cases, including 11 from the CMC area. The 11 cases detected from Cuttack city include five from Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre (AHRCC) and five from a private nursing home at Chauliaganj-6. The remaining two have been detected from Badamba and Athagarh.
