COVID-19: This southern Odisha town to remain shut for 3 days
Paralakhemundi: In view of rising number of COVID-19 cases in Gajapati, the district administration today announced three-day shutdown in Paralakhemundi town to conduct massive screening drive and antigen test.
Paralakhemundi town will remain under shutdown for 3 days from July 10 to 12 restricting vehicular movement and sealing the major roads connecting to the southern Odisha town, informed Gajapati Collector Anupam Saha today.
PKD town shall be shut down from 10-12th July. 60 medical teams shall do door to door screening with infrared thermometer, pulse oximeter and antigen kit. For tomorrow, allowable time for PKD shall be 7AM-7PM. All are requested to stay indoors & cooperate. @CMO_Odisha @HFWOdisha

The move came after number of COVID-19 cases increased in the southern Odisha district. As per the decision, the door-to-door antigen test will be conducted to detect corona cases in Paralakhemundi town.
So far, the district has registered 521 COVID-19 cases, of which 158 are active. One patient has succumbed to the deadly virus and recovered cases in the district stands at 362.
