COVID-19: Three hotels in Odisha Capital to provide quarantine facility

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) today launched pay and use quarantine facility at three hotels in Odisha Capital. The quarantine facility will be provided on payment of Rs 2,500 and taxes per day at Ginger Hotel, Jaydev Vihar; Empires Hotel, Saheed Nagar and Hotel Kalinga Ashok, Kalpana Square.

As per an office order issued by the BMC, breakfast, lunch and dinner and two numbers of water bottles per day will be provided to the person intending to be self-quarantine at these three hotels on pay and use basis. The maximum number of days up to which a person can avail this quarantine facility is 14 days from the date of suspected incidence/travel/contact. However, the quarantine period can be extended on basis of a decision taken by the visiting doctor/Medical Officer designated for the Quarantine facilities.

The hotels and the guest shall adhere to the quarantine protocol as issued by H & FW Department, Govt. of Odisha/Govt. of India. BMC or Odisha government will tag or designate doctors/Medical Officers who will visit as per need and also keep regular contact over phone with persons availing quarantine facilities.
BMC asked the management of the three hotels to provide details of guests quarantining themselves in the prescribed format.

Worth mentioning, Municipal Commissioner has been designated as the empowered officer to take measures for containment of the COVID-19 diseases, according to the Odisha COVID-19 Regulation 2020.
