COVID-19: Two more GPs declared containment zone in Odisha’s Bhadrak

Bhadrak: As the number of COVID-19 positive patients is on rise in Bhadrak district with  one more fresh case reported from Basudevpur block in last 24 hours, the district administration today declared containment zone in two more Gram Panchayats (GPs) to break the chain of spread of the deadly virus.

As many as 10 villages coming under two GPs of Arandua and Brahmanigaon under Basudevpur block have been kept under containment zone. Random sample collection and other sanitization activities will be undertaken in the confined area.

With this, movement of public has been strictly restricted in the zone. All shopping establishments will continue to remain closed while  supply of essentials and medical requirements will be ensured through various teams formed by the district administration. All Government and private institutions located within the boundary of containment zone will remain closed, reads the order issued by district Collector.

So far, 12 positive COVID-19 cases have been reported in the district with all the patients having travel history to different parts of India. The district administration warned that any violation of the order will entail prosecution under the penal provisions of Disaster Management Act, 2005 and IPC. Earlier, 5 GPs were declared as containment zone in the district.
