COVID-19: Two villages in Odisha’s Gajapati declared containment zone

Paralakhemundi: The Gajapati district administration today declared two villages- Uppalada and Tamparkakiti- under Gosani block as containment zone after three positive cases were reported in the villages yesterday.

Keeping in view the travel history of a COVID patient, the administration sealed the two villages to curb spread of the virus. Meanwhile, the two patients have been shifted to COVID hospital for treatment.

In Uppalada village, Upara Sahi, Anganwadi centre, school, Harijan Sahi, Reli Sahi and Bazaar Chhak have been sealed till June 24. Similarly the entry point of Tamparkakiti village has been sealed till June 23.

Sub-Collector Sangram Sekhar Panda will supervise enforcement of the containment order while several officials have been given other related works, sources said.
