Covid-19 vaccine for all healthcare workers to reach Odisha tomorrow

Bhubaneswar: In order to inoculate all healthcare workers in Odisha, over 3.34 lakh doses of Covishield vaccine will arrive in the State tomorrow. An official of the State government said it will receive a total of 3,34,500 doses of Covishield vaccine on Tuesday.

The second consignment of Covishield vaccine will arrive in Odisha from Pune by a SpiceJet cargo flight tomorrow.

After a gap of one day, the Covid-19 vaccination resumed in the State today and a total of 380 sessions were planned.

The official added 161 sessions were conducted on the launch date, on January 16 during which a total of 13,980 numbers of healthcare workers were vaccinated.

As per the plan, five sessions have been undertaken in the medical colleges and big private hospitals, one to two sessions in the District Headquarter Hospital, Sub Divisional Hospital and Community Health Centres from today onwards. The vaccination programme is scheduled to be completed by the end of January 2021.

The decision on the sessions has been taken after getting micro-plans from all the districts to cover vaccination of the already listed healthcare worker beneficiaries.

All districts have been directed to complete the registration process by January 25, 2021.
