COVID-19 vaccine shortage hits vaccination in Odisha’s Berhampur

Berhampur: COVID-19 vaccination in Odisha’s Berhampur reportedly came to a halt yesterday as all vaccine centres in the town remained closed due to vaccine shortage.

A notice was put up at a vaccine centre mentioning about its closure due to lack of vaccine. A similar notice was spotted outside another vaccine centre, in which it was mentioned that the centre will remain closed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

Officials said the vaccine stock is expected to be replenished by tomorrow.

Additional Chief Secretary (Health) PK Mohapatra had yesterday written to Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan urging the latter for supply of at least 15 lakh doses of COVID-19 vaccine to the state immediately.
