Covid-19 Warrior: Anganwadi worker from Odisha back to work 5 days after surgery

Ganjam (Patrapur): Putting duty before herself, Anganwadi worker Annapurna Chowdhury is one of the frontline warriors in this coronavirus pandemic situation as she returned to work just 5 days after her surgery. Despite not being in the pink of health, she has been toiling day in and day out.

Understanding her call of duty, Annapurna who is an Anganwadi worker of Balarampur village under Gudipadar Panchayat in Patrapur block of Ganjam district returned back to work and now has joined the fight against the coronavirus pandemic. She continues to work as an unsung Covid-19 warrior.

Annapaurna, on March 6, was diagnosed with hydrocephalus and underwent surgery in a private hospital in Bhubaneswar. She was supposed to take rest to recover from the pain, however she chose duty and joined back just 5 days of her operation.

She has been working relentlessly during this hour of Covid-19 pandemic, creating awareness among people, conducting survey and working in the quarantine center. She has also left her 3-year-old son back at home and performing her duty. She has been consulting her doctor over text messages instead of scheduling appointment in Bhubaneswar.

Meanwhile, everyone has acknowledged the efforts of Annapurna who is in the mission to fight against the highly infectious disease sidelining her own health complications.
