Covid hospital shut in Odisha’s Sambalpur after decline in new positive cases

Sambalpur: In view of the decline in number of Covid cases, the Sambalpur district administration today shut the Covid hospital operating in Sambalpur town. After two remaining Covid-19 patients admitted to the Sambalpur Covid hospital recovered and were discharged, the administration ordered for closure of the hospital except the 20-bedded ICU with immediate effect.

Sources said the Sambalpur Sadar Hospital will be operational from the premises of the Covid hospital from November 20. The staff engaged at the Covid hospital will no longer be employed at the Sadar Hospital, sources added.

It is worth to be mentioned that the Sambalpur Sadar Hospital was shut on April 22 to make way for the special Covid hospital. Following this, arrangements were made for treatment of non-Covid patients at Janardana Pujari Matrumangala Kendra and a health centre located at Ainthapali.
