COVID infected Odisha Vigilance Director critical; to be airlifted to Hyderabad

Cuttack: The health condition of Dr. Debasis Panigrahi, the Director of Odisha Vigilance Directorate further deteriorated after being infected with COVID-19.

The senior IPS Officer is undergoing treatment at a private COVID hospital in Cuttack since last week. Source said that he will be airlifted to Hyderabad today for improved treatment.

According to reports, Dr Panigrahi was admitted to the Ashwini COVID Hospital, Cuttack, on May 29. Two days after treatment at the hospital, his health condition deteriorated. He was in ICU and later put on a ventilator.

However, his oxygen level dipped continuously and he did not show any sign of improvement. On suggestion from the medical experts, it has been decided to shift him to a hospital in Hyderabad for advanced treatment for COVID infection.
