COVID surge: Malls, markets in Odisha capital under strict surveillance

Bhubaneswar: As part of precautionary measures following the sudden spike in COVID-19 cases, the Commissionerate Police (CP) has intensified enforcement of guidelines in the state capital.

Speaking to mediapersons, Bhubaneswar DCP Uma Shankar Dash today warned that action will be taken against those found violating the mask-wearing and social distancing norms.  Heavy fine will also be imposed on violators of the guidelines.

Besides, surveillance will be intensified at crowded places, including markets and shopping malls in the city, he added

Earlier in the day, the Delhi Government termed cinema halls, malls, metro and religious places as super spreader and directed all District Magistrates (DMs) to increase surveillance in those areas.
